About Paul Sadler

Paul Sadler has been teaching children how to swim and survive in deep water since 1972, and continues his teaching in the pool today.

Paul began to teach swimming part-time and found that his unique way of teaching was in so much demand that, in 1972 he established Paul Sadler Swim School in Brighton. It was one of the first privately operated swim schools in Australia at the time.

Whilst there were many swim coaches that focused on both teaching to swim and training swimmers at the top end, Paul was one of the pioneers in the learn to swim field. His background in education enabled him to design a way of teaching that has produced numerous world first outcomes, such as five year olds who have swum 3km non-stop.

From these humble beginnings, Paul’s program and the Paul Sadler Swimland experience is now recognized as a leader in aquatic education worldwide.

Whilst the program is continually evolving, the core philosophy around survival and great teaching is still today the foundation of the program as it was back in 1972.

Paul has spoken on both the National and International stage and is still passionate about driving his team to look at new and innovative ways to make the Swimland experience an even greater one for the children and their parents.
