20,000km Gold Swim

13 March 2009

Swimland squad swimmers closed in on the magical 20,000km mark at the end of 2008 when we conducted our annual December Gold Swims.

Swimmers from all sites completed Gold swims ranging from 3km up to a 5hr non-stop swim including Zoe Robertson (left) who swam an amazing 17.7km in 5 hours.

This now brings the total distance swum in Gold Swims since 1987 to a staggering 19, 219km which is five times across the width of Australia and equal to halfway around the circumference of Earth.

We congratulate all swimmers who completed a Gold Swim. You will be able to see your photo on your swim school’s site page.

We look forward to many more taking on this great challenge and seeing us top the 20,000km mark in 2009.
