Swordy's Survival Story No. 2

22 August 2009

The following is a letter we received from one of our clients regarding a recent incident that occurred while they were away on holiday! The letter was written by 10 year old Connor Ovenden who describes what happened and how he wanted to thank all his brother's teachers, for teaching him how to swim!

Dear Swim teachers,

I want to say thank you for teaching my little brother how to swim.

We were on a wharf at Eden, in NSW, when my six year old brother, Tim, fell off into deep water. He panicked at first. Then, when mum said “dig, dig, dig, run, run, run” he calmed down and did what he was supposed to do. He treaded water, and then swam to a pole.

He used his fishing rod so he could reach dad. Then some fishermen pulled him up.

Thank you to his teachers at Bacchus Marsh Swimland – Garrick, Sarah, Hayley and Liana.

From Connor Ovenden.
