Swimming Lessons Laverton FAQs

We aren’t just teaching swimming and survival skills. We encourage a love and respect for the water. Our Paul Sadler Swimland Laverton swimmers will learn techniques to help them survive AND thrive in the water!

We specialise in working with infants, young people and adults to improve their aquatic confidence. We evaluate swimmers while they continue to develop and grow in the water. This is because we find lessons that are suitable for their skill level. Every swim program is delivered by certified, experienced instructors who prioritise safety and engagement while ensuring learners and their families feel secure and safe.

Our classes are offered at various times throughout the week, which suits busy families. In the event that you need to miss a class, you have the option to make it up at a later time.

It’s best for young children to attend regular formal swimming lessons at least once a week to make progress in their swimming abilities. Our Learn to Swim program provides plenty of opportunities for children to develop life-saving water safety and survival skills. We teach children how to become competent swimmers by encouraging maximum participation in every lesson. Children are able to learn in a tension free and fun environment. This means there are plenty of opportunities for steady progress to be made. We also regularly run School Holiday Programs which gives your children the opportunity to further fast track their development.

To ensure that students are placed in the best possible class that focuses on their unique ability level, we offer a free assessment with a Paul Sadler Swimland Laverton swim teacher. For the youngest swimmers (from four months to three years old), no assessment of their skills are required. They will join the Parent / Child classes and start with water familiarisation and establishing muscle memory through relevant activities with a parent or carer. This focus on comfort, mobility and safety becomes very important during later levels.

Our teachers gain an average of 200 hours of training before they even have the opportunity to teach a lesson. They are nationally accredited, qualified and are passionate about teaching.

Our qualified swim teachers have diverse backgrounds with the water. Some grew up with a pool in the backyard, others spent their afternoons paddling out into the rolling waves or diving into deep water, despite their differences, they all share a love for the water.

This love is fostered in our swimming programs, and our teachers are committed to teaching water safety and technique refinement to students of all ages.

All our team members must hold a current Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC). This is an official government credential that’s monitored continuously. If any new information arises, we’re notified immediately, ensuring ongoing eligibility to work with children.

We are proud to offer lessons for all ages and abilities at our swim school. From our comfortably heated indoor pool, we offer year-round lessons for babies from 4 months to 3 years old in our parent-child program, and from 3 years old through to adult classes.

The classes are designed to teach water safety, boost confidence while also enhancing skills and improving your own fitness overall. Our teachers are specially trained to interpret your child’s needs. We are always looking to appropriately challenge our swimmers to improve every class.

Here’s more information regarding our specific programs:

There are no upfront joining fees and we offer payments via direct debits on a monthly schedule. See section above for more information about the pricing of our classes.

For the safety of our members, our water is constantly monitored by an automated chlorination system and by a team member every few hours. Our entire Laverton centre follows COVID-19 current protocols and guidelines.

Our pool is a custom built private facility. Our pool water is 32 degrees year round and our deck temperature is 27 degrees. It has a deep end that is perfect for safety skill building and is on campus at the Western Autistic School.
