Frequently Asked Questions

The survival skills component of our swimming programs is unique to Paul Sadler Swimland and is something we’re proud of. Although it is important to work on stroke development, we also focus on:

  • Teaching children what to do if they fall in the water, by having them jump into the deep end, flip onto their backs and then swim to the edge
  • Ensure they repeat any survival skills over and over again to help build their muscle memory and strengthen their confidence
  • Teach children how to tread water unaided
  • Help children learn how to float and blow bubbles
  • Deep water recovery
  • Ensure children in early levels do not use goggles so they get comfortable without them, just in case they ever fall into the water

We want every child to feel safer in the water and be more prepared to help themselves in the event that there is an emergency. However, as your child learns these survival skills, they will still be having fun and be able to enjoy their time in the pool.

While many swim schools have swim instructors with the basic qualifications of approximately 30-40 hours of training, at Paul Sadler Swimland we go above and beyond to ensure that we are equipped to help our students learn to survive and thrive in the water. Our teachers have an average of 200 hours of training before they teach a lesson, receive ongoing training and support, and are nationally accredited.

But what’s more important is that our teachers all truly have a passion and love for the water, their students, and their role as a teacher.

At our Golden Square Outdoor Summer Program we offer toddler, children, and even adult classes.

No matter your age, skill level, individual needs or confidence, our swim school teachers will help you learn water safety in a fun, understanding, and engaging way.

Here’s more information regarding our specific programs:

The cost of our classes is dependent on the location you join. However, at Paul Sadler Swimland we ensure that there are no upfront joining fees and that our customers can pay for classes on a monthly basis.

We regularly run additional School Holidays programs which give you the opportunity to fast track your progress or make up for any missed classes.

We understand how important it is to keep lessons consistent to ensure swimmers maintain the development of their confidence and swim and survival skills. This is why we offer a holiday program that could even help your child accelerate their progress due to our opening hours.
